The Illinois High School Translation Competition is back for 2023-24! If you're a high school student who knows Greek, Hebrew, Italian, Polish, Swedish, or Ukrainian, we encourage you to participate in this competition for the chance to win a prize and a certificate. The task consists of translating a text of 500-700 words from one of the six languages into English. This year we are highlighting contemporary literature, and students from all language divisions will be asked to translate an excerpt from a work by a living author.

To participate, please register here: https://forms.illinois.edu/sec/169703375. The deadline to send in submissions is Sunday, October 15 at 11:59 P.M. CDT, so register early to have more time to work on your translation! Please see here (https://go.illinois.edu/TranslationCompetition) for more details, and email eucenter@illinois.edu with any questions.
