Biography

Dylan is an MS student in Engineering Technology and Management for Agricultural Systems. His role as a research assistant in the Circular Bioeconomy Resource Lab has offered him the opportunity to assist hydrothermal liquefaction aqueous phase (HTL-AP) and hydroponic experiments. He is currently designing an experiment to identify, cultivate, and analyze the water quality impact of unintended fungi that have accumulated in several of the lab's HTL-AP samples. He plans to present the results at the annual ASABE conference in Toronto and incorporate the study into his thesis.

Dylan studied abroad in Vienna, Austria for a semester during his undergraduate career at Illinois. He completed the Global Sustainability Certificate Program, formulated a policy statement comparing electric mobility progress between the EU and US, and participated in an internship with Eaton Corporation while in Vienna. His invaluable study abroad experience allowed him to assimilate unfamiliar cultures and gain new perspectives.

During his free time, Dylan enjoys exercising, traveling, and attending concerts. His love for adventuring extends beyond his personal and professional life. His passions for global food security, environmental stewardship, and cultural competence reflect his connectedness with nature and optimism toward our planet’s future.
