The European Union Center (EUC) is searching for an Academic Coordinator. This position will provide specialized intellectual instruction to the students in the Master's program in European Union Studies and coordinate the European Union Center's academic programs, including the M.A. in European Union Studies, the Graduate Minor, the 5-year BALAS/MAEUS track, and related academic activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in key courses that support MAEUS and the EUC’s academic mission, including traditional and online undergraduate teaching, graduate instruction, and continuing education

  • Coordinate development of curriculum in European Union studies with EUC’s faculty affiliates, Associate Director, and Director

  • Administer graduate program, including student advising, petition process, supervising thesis work, identification and planning of internships, liaising with the Graduate College and University Registrar, recruiting students, and ensuring compliance with all university policies and regulations

  • Contribute to collaborative development of EU Center programming, including conferences, lectures, symposia, roundtable discussions, professional development opportunities, and study tours

  • Participate in planning, applying for, administering, and tracking grant funding in consultation with Associate Director, including for the Jean Monnet Centre for Excellence and Title VI grants.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master's degree in an area relevant to Europe and EU Studies or a related field

  • Advising and coordinator experience in academic programming

  • Minimum of one year instructional experience in Europe-oriented fields

  • International experience, including study abroad experience, preferably in Europe

Preferred

  • Ph.D. in an area relevant to Europe and EU Studies or a related field

  • Experience in online teaching

  • Working knowledge of one or more European languages other than English

  • Ability and willingness to periodically travel for recruitment, academic program, and partnership development and to execute student professional development activities

Appointment Information

This is a full-time Academic Professional position appointed on a 12 month service basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the deadline date. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
